The tradition of excellent jewelry from long standing Malcolm Jewelers network includes craftsmen, designers, and diamond dealers that have supplied the needs of Malcolm Jewelers customers for over eighty-three. Todd does the legwork for you and will bring hand-selected pieces to you personally for your consideration. 3rd Generation

Todd D Malcolm is a third-generation jeweler. His grandfather George D Malcolm opened Malcolm Jewelers in Moline Illinois in 1941. Jewelry was his passion and there was no compromise for his customers. George C Malcolm carried on that tradition until his retirement in 2002. Todd Malcolm continues the rich history of experience, knowledge as your personal jeweler.

George D. Malcolm

In 1941, Founder, George D. Malcolm packed up his family, wife Madelyn, and sons George and Richard, and left Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, heading for the rural Midwest. His mind focused on a dream and his life savings in his pocket, Malcolm Jewelers was established in the thriving business section of downtown Moline, Illinois.

George D. Malcolm received his jewelry training in the “Jewelry District” on the legendary Sampson Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Jewelry was his passion and there was no compromise for his customers. He traveled extensively on buying trips to New York and Chicago. George was an active Shriner, receiving the organization’s highest award, a 33-degree Mason. He was a veteran of the United States Navy in World War One. An active contributor to local colleges and educational institutions. George and Madelyn took pride in their community and encouraged sons George and Richard who followed in their father’s footsteps in the jewelry industry to be civic minded. Currently celebrating their eighty third year in the jewelry industry. Malcolm Jewelers has a generous policy of supporting non- profit, tax exempt, organizations locally that work to improve the social and economic conditions of the community. Our charitable contributions include arts and culture, education, health and human services, sports, and law enforcement.

Madeline Malcolm

The first Lady of Malcolm Jewelers. Madeline Malcolm, Founded the business with her husband of fifty years, George D. Malcolm. Madeline knew the importance of supporting her children and her husband in the family business. She took on multiple roles. First as a mother, where she handled all the household duties raising sons George and Richard who followed in the footsteps of their father in the jewelry business. Instilling a work ethic, the boys were introduced to the store at an early age by taking on small jobs like sweeping the floors and taking out the garbage. Madeline was active in her church and served for over twenty years as secretary to the Kings Daughters, where she hosted many luncheons and tea’s. Madeline, along with her husband enjoyed supporting the Moline community with friends. Dining out, participating in fundraisers, playing cards, and attending all the Moline Maroon basketball home games.

George C. Malcolm

George C. Malcolm, second generation jeweler and President of Malcolm Jewelers with over fifty years of experience in the jewelry business. A four-year graduate of Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, Missouri. Served as a Seargent in the United States Army. Followed by a year of leadership school at Fort Benning Georgia, where he was in the top ten percent of his class. A Shiner, earning the distinction of 32 Nd. Degree Mason. A past President of Moline Jaycees. George participated for many years as an active member of the Moline Chamber of Commerce and the Moline Downtown Association.

In 1975, George Malcolm moved the store to a new location at 1526 5 th. avenue in downtown Moline. His vision was to create a large open spaced jewelry store with a relaxing atmosphere for his customers. This 3200 square foot state of the art store garnered architectural awards from the city of Moline and the Moline Preservation Society, for preserving and maintaining an historical building.

Todd Malcolm

Todd D Malcom, a third generation jeweler, and President of Malcolm jewelers. Brings 38 years’ experience to the industry as a Registered Jeweler. A graduate of the Prestigious Gemological Institute of America. The number one leading gem school in the world, where he holds the institute’s highest ranking of Graduate Gemologist and pearl grading. Todd was a finalist in the Saul Bell Jewelry Design Awards, in the gold and platinum division. A finalist, in the Finger mate Expand Your Knowledge essay contest. Voted on by the leading jewelry professionals in the industry. A in depth seven topic essay, “On how independent jewelers compete with large chain store operations”. A civic minded individual, Todd was Moline Jaycee’s man of the year and finalist for Illinois Jaycee man of the year. Served twenty eight years on the board of directors of Crimestoppers where he held positions as secretary and Vice President. Going on his thirty fifth year of service to his community. Todd has held numerous committee chairs and board of directorships in sports, education, and business.
